ChromaQuest in 2nd Annual FORTHEM Conference


FORTHEM is a European University Alliance that brings together nine multidisciplinary public research universities in Latvia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, and Spain. It promotes international collaboration in education, research, and civic engagement, as well as fosters student and staff mobility, joint research initiatives, and innovative teaching approaches.

2nd Annual FORTHEM conference “Connecting Worlds of Science and Society” took place from January 29-31, 2025. This year’s edition focused on the crucial role of science in shaping a sustainable, inclusive, and innovative future. Through research-driven outreach initiatives, the FORTHEM Alliance demonstrates how science can effectively tackle pressing societal challenges.

The conference featured 12 thematic sessions covering topics such as climate change, multilingualism, sustainability, and other key societal and scientific subjects.A cross-disciplinary session “Natural and Life Sciences: insights from next-gen researchers” chaired by Dr Laura Stein, took place on January 31, 2025, where the topic “Biorefinery solutions to obtain natural dyes and improve their stability through co-pigmentation” was presented.
