Bsc Taisija Gricenko presents her research on "Effect of Drying Temperature on the Anthocyanin Profile of Berry Pomace" during a scientific conference, highlighting her findings.

On 14th of May ChromaQuest project conducted work was presented at the yearly XVIII International Scientific Conference of Environmental and Climate Technologies CONECT 2025.

Project expert, BSc Taisija Gricenko presented how the contents of total anthocyanins, total polyphenolics and the corresponding antioxidative activities (DPPH) are affected by the used drying methods and at different temperatures. Experiments presented were conducted using berry press residues, that were kindly donated by our associated partner, the company "Very Berry".

The results obtained with UPLC-PDA-UV illustrated the impact of temperature and drying methods on the anthocyanin profile - different anthocyanins degrade at different rates.

The results showed that drying temperature and drying method impacts the pigment stability, which is an important aspect of developing and characterizing stable, anthocyanin-based natural dyes from industry by-products or the use of berry press residues in dry product formulations.
